If you’re a drinker like us, you’ll love the amendments in yesterday’s budget package:

  • allows beer and wine in the new Columbus Commons park
  • permits sampling at brewery tours (not just wineries anymore)
  • reduces funding for enforcement of Ohio’s liquor laws

Probably a good thing, because when you see what they did to public education, you’re going to need a drink.

All the liquor-related amendments are outlined in the Department of Commerce comparison document from LSC. Items on the left are provisions in the governor’s budget. On the right, House amendments are listed. If the left column says “no provision” it means the House added it, and if the right column says “same as executive” it means the House didn’t change it.
